    Omicron terror in Delhi: Rs 1.5 crore fine imposed for violation of covid norms

    Digital Desk: The Delhi government has recently imposed ₹1.54 crore as fines in 7,778 cases over two days for violating Covid appropriate behavior -- like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and spitting in public -- in crowded areas in the Capital.





    According to the officials, the total amount of fines imposed on Wednesday and Thursday is one of the highest in recent weeks.





    The officials also added that the drive is in the plan to restrict the spread of the deadly virus in the Capital city.  





    The Delhi government collected a total of Rs 21 crore in the month of November this year.





    North and East districts of Delhi recorded the most fines, the officials imposed fines approximately of Rs 29lac and Rs 25 lac respectively.





     in comparison to that, the Central and East districts recorded the least amount of recorded violations.

    Due to repeated violations of covid norms, a restaurant in Mehrauli was sealed by the authorities.





    Reportedly the restaurant violated the guidelines set by the DDMA of mandating a 50% seating cap.





    Multiple flying squads are working hand in hand to curb the spread of this deadly virus in the capital city which consists of civil defence volunteers and one Civil servant officer and one from the revenue department to conduct raids in crowded areas like markets, bus terminals, bars, etc. to ensure adherence to DDMA guidelines.
