PM Modi Has Not Taken A Single Leave Since 2014: RTI Reply

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not taken a single day off from work during his tenure...

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has served as the leader of India for nine consecutive years, has not taken a single day off from work during his tenure, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). This revelation came in response to a Right to Information (RTI) query filed by Prafful P Sarda, a Pune-based entrepreneur activist.

Sarda's RTI petition posed two significant questions. Firstly, he inquired about the number of days Prime Minister Modi attended office since assuming office in 2014. The PMO responded with a resolute statement: "The Prime Minister is on duty all the time. No leave has been availed of by Prime Minister Narendra Modi since taking office."

In the second question, Sarda sought details about the number of days Prime Minister Modi was present at various events and functions since becoming the Prime Minister of India. The PMO directed him to a website link that displayed an astounding count of over 3,000 events attended by the Prime Minister both in India and abroad since May 2014.

These revelations from the PMO have ignited a fervent discussion on social media platforms, with numerous users praising Prime Minister Modi's unwavering dedication to his role.

"A great and ideal PM #Modiji sir. We always respect and appreciate his cooperation, dedication, and responsibility towards the nation. Thank you so much, sir, for your contribution," wrote one Twitter user.

"It's truly remarkable to see the unwavering commitment of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to his duty. A leader who dedicates himself tirelessly to serve the nation, setting a shining example for all," commented another user.

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, also shared a copy of the RTI on X and wrote, "#MyPmMyPride."

This isn't the first time such an RTI query has been filed. In 2016, a similar request yielded the same response from the PMO, asserting that "The Prime Minister can be said to be on duty all the time."

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, during an interaction with the Indian community in Bangkok, recently praised Prime Minister Modi's dedication to his work. "I feel it’s been an enormous good fortune for the country to have someone like PM Modi at this time. And I am not saying this because he is the Prime Minister of the day, and I am a member of his cabinet," he said.

Prime Minister Modi's relentless commitment to his role as the leader of India continues to garner respect and admiration from citizens and leaders alike, making him an enduring figure in the country's political landscape.
