Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bengaluru and met scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) early on Saturday morning.

PM Modi had a meeting with ISRO Chief S Somanath at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru.

He spoke with the ISRO scientists and thanked them for scripting the history of Chandrayaan-3's successful landing on the moon.

"Jai Vigyan Jai Anusandhan" slogans were raised by PM Modi when he arrived at Bengaluru's HAL airport this morning.

He stated, "I could not stop myself as I was not in the country, but I decided to visit Bengaluru first and meet our scientists right after visiting India."

A large gathering greeted the Prime Minister outside the airport.

On August 23, at around 6:04 p.m. IST, the Lander Module (LM) of ISRO's third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the lunar surface.

Following the failure of the Chandrayaan-2 mission in 2019, this was India's third lunar exploration mission.

On July 14, at 2.35 p.m., the Chandrayaan-3 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The LVM3 Launch Vehicle Mk III took the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft to Geo Transfer Orbit (GTO).

Soon after Chandrayaan-3's soft lunar landing, ISRO Chief S. Somanath declared, "India is on the Moon." With this, India became the first nation in history to land on the Moon's south pole.
