Digital Desk: On Thursday, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the Lok Sabha regarding the no-confidence motion launched against the federal government, MPs from the opposition parties staged a walkout.

Notably, PM Modi criticised the opposition's behaviour and said they were just interested in speaking and not listening. He continued by saying that the nation's citizens do not trust them because of their propensity for fleeing from problems.

Those who don't believe in democracy know how to speak and point fingers but lack the patience to listen, PM Modi responded. They scream insults and go, they throw trash about and leave, they spread lies and leave. The public has no expectations of those who participate in such sports.

He continued, "A thorough conversation would have taken place if they had consented to examine the Manipur violence episode sooner. And even they would have had the opportunity to argue their claims, they have no interest in doing so.

PM further said that the Treasury Bench must represent the nation's trust, grant them authority, and respond appropriately to individuals who do not trust their own country when a no-confidence motion is made.

In an apparent dig at the opposition, PM Modi referred to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.) coalition as a "Ghamandiya alliance," saying that it is a surefire recipe for policy gridlock, instability, corruption, appeasement, and a centuries-long step backwards for India.

In response to the violence in Manipur, PM Modi said that both the state and federal governments are putting up a great effort to maintain calm in the region. "Both the state and federal administrations are exerting every effort to guarantee that those who are accused receive the worst penalties. I want to reassure the populace that Manipur will be again a peace-restored state. The nation is supporting you, I want to tell the people of Manipur, especially the women and daughters of Manipur."
