Digital Desk: On January 23, India marks the birth of renowned Indian liberation warrior Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with the celebration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti, also known as Netaji Jayanti. Netaji Jayanti is officially known as Parakram Diwas. Netaji was born in Cuttack, Odisha, on January 23, 1897.
Parakram Diwal's history:
In 2021, on the anniversary of Netaji's 124th birthday, Parakram Divas was first observed in place of Netaji Jayanti. It is a recognised holiday in Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Tripura. On this day, Netaji is honoured by the Indian government. He was an outstanding student and an authentic Indian nationalist. Netaji Bose completed his undergraduate studies in philosophy at the Scottish Church College, a division of the University of Calcutta.
He later travelled to England in 1919 to complete the Indian Civil Service (I.C.S. ), coming in fourth place overall with the highest English score. Since he didn't want to work for the British government, he quit his position in 1921 and returned to India.
When Netaji returned to India, Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, who would later serve as his political mentor, pushed him to join the Indian National Congress (I.N.C.).
He looked forward to Swami Vivekananda as his spiritual leader and was profoundly influenced by his viewpoints. In 1923, Bose won the election to lead the All India Youth Congress, and he later led the Congress in 1938 and 1939.
According to reports, Netaji sustained third-degree burns on August 18, 1945, in a plane accident close to Tohuku, Japanese Taiwan. Although the authorities declared his dead in 2017, several rumours are persisting regarding his location.
