    Parliament Updates: Rahul Gandhi says MoS Ajay Mishra is a criminal, must resign

    New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called Minister of State in Ministry of Home affairs Ajay Mishra Teni a criminal and stated that Mishra should resign from his position.  





    The Congress-led Opposition in the Lok Sabha continued their protest against Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The Opposition demanded the resignation of the MoS Ajay Mishra. The session of both the Houses has been suspended till 2 pm due to the uproar of Opposition regarding the incident. 





    Congress MP Rahul Gandhi united with Opposition associates in the House and blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for protecting Ajay Mishra.

    Rahul Gandhi stated that the 'Opposition wants a discussion in Parliament, but the Prime Minister denies. They are making excuses. The minister must resign. He is a criminal."





    Moreover, the government is all set to table the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the Rajya Sabha for consideration and passage today. This bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha on Monday.





    The Union Cabinet has cleared two major proposals on Wednesday. First of all, it has cleared proposals in key reforms in the electoral system. Secondly, the cabinet has cleared the proposal to raise the legal age for marriages of girls.
