    In a ceremony on Monday at Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Ram Nath Kovind will confer the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awards for 2022.


    Digital Desk: The nation's second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, will be given to General Bipin Rawat, the first Chief of Defence Staff who died in a helicopter crash last year.

    Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad will receive the Padma Bhushan, the country's third-highest civilian award.

    The government of India, on the eve of Republic Day, announced the list of 123 Padma awardees in various categories such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature, and education, sports, and civil services.

    Though, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, singer Sandhya Mukherjee, and a famous Tabla player Anindya Cahterjee denied the award.
