Digital Desk: An RJD leader sparked outrage by claiming that people from the Brahmin community do not belong to India and are from Russia. RJD leader Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav claimed last week at an event in Bihar's Supaul that DNA tests show that no Brahmins belong to the country, urging people to "chase them away." The RJD leader's statement grabbed heated reactions on social media from a number of quarters.
"The DNA test shows that no Brahmins belong to this country and are from Russia who have settled here. The Brahmins are attempting to divide and rule us. "We should chase them out of here," Yadav told a gathering of his party's workers.
The RJD leader further stated that individuals from the Yadav community are "originally from this country."
A video of his speech has been making the rounds on social media.
The BJP marked the RJD leader's words "shameful" and claimed that such persons are responsible for the country's "communal divide."
"Such people are the reason for the communal divide in our nation and the irony is they are ruling Bihar! "The DNA test shows no Brahmins belong to this country and are from Russia and now have settled here. We should chase them away from here" Shameful statement by RJD leader!," BJP leader Amit Rakshit wrote in a tweet.
