Digital Desk: Ramen Deka, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Mangaldoi and a member of the Lok Sabha, on Thursday expressed his aspirations of contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha general elections in 2024.
The Assam leader was in Delhi, where he had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to talk about this and other topics.
Ramen Deka spoke to reporters there after the meeting, "I have made Amit Shah aware of my feelings and expectations. It is no secret that I am looking to represent the party and contest in the coming Lok Sabha elections."
Ramen Deka asserted that the party's leadership team would resolve any issues inside the Assam state BJP unit.
He stated, "BJP is not a small party; it is vast like a sea. The leadership of the party will resolve any internal conflicts."
Ramen Deka continued further clarifying that there have been no discrepancies in recruitments and that claims that party members have taken money are false when it comes to the cash-for-jobs conspiracy that has grown out of the probe into the death of Indrani Tahbildar.
"There have been no differences in the employment provided. The party will take the proper action against any members whose names were revealed during the investigation into the situation, stated Ramen Deka.
On the other hand, Ramen Deka, taking a dig at the opposition questioned their cohesiveness. He stated, "There is no prominent leader of the opposition bloc. They have no unity among themselves."
