Digital Desk: The World Bank has sanctioned
Mumbai: Dhyandev Kachruji Wankhede, father of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, has registered a defamation case against the Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik in Bombay High Court, demanding a compensation of Rs 1.25 crore.
Dhyandev Wankhede has moved to the Bombay high court, stating his recent statements have defamed his family.
As per reports, the matter was discussed primarily before Justice Shahrukh Kathawalla by advocate Arshad Shaikh to give Dhyandev Wankhede (72) to file the suit during the court recess and to hear the matter for interim relief on Monday.
In his petition, Shaikh stated that Malik urged the Wankhede family "fraud and questioned their ethical beliefs, stating they are not Hindus."
He has further accused Malik of destroying the practice of his daughter Yasmin. She is a criminal lawyer and has asked for a permanent injunction against Malik and NCP members from writing, speaking, or publishing any defamatory material against the officer and his family members.
"He is calling everybody (in the Wankhede family) a fraud. Daily," Shaikh stated.
Wankhede's sister Yasmeen has further hit back at the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader for sharing her purported Whatsapp chats on social media and accused the Minister of taking out his "personal vendetta for his son-in-law's arrest" by dragging women into the ongoing tussle between him and the probe agency.
