New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood who was in the spotlight last year for helping the migrant workers reach their homes during the Covid-19 lockdown in the country has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador for mentoring programme ‘Desh ka mentors’ for children.

Talking about the initiative, CM Arvind Kejriwal requested the educated people to come forward and guide the students of the poor backgrounds in the city.

CM Kejriwal thanked Sonu Sood for taking out time from his busy schedule.

“He is an inspiration for the people of the country. Thousands reach out to him for help. This is a sort of miracle that he has been doing what so many governments have not been able to do. We had a long chat about his work and shared the work of the Delhi government with him," Kejriwal said.

Talking to the media Sonu Sood said, "Today, I have been given an opportunity to mentor lakhs of students. There is no greater service than guiding students.”

Sonu Sood and Arvind Kejriwal both said that nothing was discussed about politics and only discussion about the programme were held between the two.

The meeting comes just a day after Kejriwal announced that the Delhi Government will soon come up with “the most progressive” film policy which will be a massive boost to the entertainment industry.

Meanwhile, Sonu Sood is also the brand ambassador of the Punjab Government’s Covid Vaccination Drive.
