Lucknow: Ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party is busy glorifying its various developmental works achieved by chief minister Yogi Adityanath in the state. Even if the party has to snatch the development from other states.
Reportedly, a picture of the Srisailam dam constructed across the Krishna river in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana doing the rounds on the internet after BJP MLA Avadhesh Singh posted the photo with captions claiming it to be the development in the Bundelkhand region constructed under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
MLA Avadhesh Singh tweeted the image with a caption, “Bundelkhand which was traditionally used by politicians for their personal benefits is today witnessing a sea of change. #बुलन्द_बुन्देलखण्ड’.”
Notably, other BJP leaders, including Ravindra Nath Tripathi & Suresh Kumar Khanna, BJP member Anil Kumar, and Hindu Yuva Vahini Gujarat in charge of Yogi Devnath, also shared the same image.
Interestingly, a Facebook page with three lakh followers with ‘Narendra Modi for PM’ also shared fake development claimed by the BJP party.
A netizen sarcastically expressing his shock commented, “Lifting water itself is a daunting task. But the BJP leaders have lifted the very dam itself.” While another user wrote, “BJP people can relocate dams now. The Srisalam dam is moved to Bundelkhand. Quite an achievement on this is.”
Local TRS leaders attacked the BJP for lying to the public about its achievements; the Twitteratti in Telangana had a field day trolling the party for its false claim.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government used the purported image of a Kolkata flyover in a full-page newspaper advertisement showcasing the achievement of chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
The advertisement titled, ‘Transforming Uttar Pradesh under Yogi Adityanath’ showed the Maa flyover painted in blue and white with industries juxtaposed below a cut-out of Yogi Adityanath.
