Supreme Court to resume partial physical hearings twice weekly
Digital Desk: Supreme Court of India decided to resume physical hearings twice a week on Monday. The decision has been taken considering the dropping number of Covid-19 cases in the nation.

The partial physical hearings will take place from February 14. In addition, the secretary-general of the Supreme Court issued a statement related to this decision.

In the statement, it has been said that the Chief Justice of India took the decision. Moreover, it revealed that there was also a discussion with the Committee of Judges before the final decision.

The decision to resume physical hearing was taken, given a significant decline in the surge of Covid-19 in the national capital. According to the statement, the physical hearings would be considered twice a week. The days are decided as Wednesday and Thursday. In addition, a hybrid model of hearing would be held on other days, as was agreed last year.

The apex court is stirring the revised standard operating procedure (SOP) issued on October 7 2021, after the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic had lessened.

On Monday, the national capital even continued recording a downfall in its daily Covid-19 tally. On Monday, 1,151 infections were recorded during the day, which is less in numbers than the spring of the third wave. The national capital now has 7,885 active cases with a positivity rate of 2.62 per cent.
