According to authorities, people threw stones on officials during the delineation of mining ghats in
Gaya district's Belaganj police station. Following that, the police utilised light lathi-charge, water cannons, and tear gas shells to disperse the throng.

SP Gaya City Rakesh Kumar said on Thursday that ten persons had been detained on suspicion of obstructing the fulfilment of official duties.
The locals, on the other hand, said they were opposing mining at the sand ghat when they were thrashed by sand mafia guys. They further claimed that the administration and Punj Sharma's gang, a sand mafia, are engaged.
Netizens have claimed the act as an act similar to that of the Taliban.
