UP Assembly Election 2022: Former BJP Minister Dara Singh Chauhan Joins Samajwadi Party
Digital Desk: Dara Singh Chauhan, former minister in Yogi Adityanath's cabinet, joined the Samajwadi Party (SP), in the presence of national president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday (January 16).

After Swami Prasad Maurya and Dharam Singh Saini, he is the third minister to resign from the BJP and join Akhilesh Yadav's party.

Chauhan, after joining the Samajwadi Party, said, "The BJP government's motto in 2017 was "sab ka saath, sab ka vikas." The party received widespread support; however, just a few people benefited from the development. "

Further, the BJP MP from Lucknow's Madhuban constituency went on to say that not only the backward classes and Dalits are dissatisfied with the BJP government, but also the Brahmins are unhappy with the BJP ruled state government.

"We will again make Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister of UP. People from the OBC and Dalit communities will unite... change is unavoidable." he added.

Moreover, Apna Dal MLA RK Verma also joined the Samajwadi Party today.

"I welcome Dara Singh Chauhan and RK Verma to the party. The election of 2022 will pit the two-engine government in Delhi and Lucknow against one another (a reference to the BJP in power at the center and state). They've only engaged in breaking politics. We'll concentrate on development politics. " Akhilesh Yadav said.

"As the English proverb says,‘strike the iron while it’s hot. So we decided to bring these three leaders into the party at the appropriate time. The BJP doesn’t understand English proverbs. If they had understood it, they would have gone into depression." he added.

Earlier, on January 14, former Uttar Pradesh ministers Swami Prasad Maurya and Dharam Singh Saini joined the Samajwadi Party after resigning from the Yogi Adityanath ministry and the ruling BJP ahead of the Assembly elections.

Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be contested in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. In Uttar Pradesh, voting will take place on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, and March 3 and 7.
