Digital Desk: Union Minister Smriti Irani’s daughter Shanelle tied the knot with Canada-based lawyer Arjun Bhalla in a private ceremony in Rajasthan.

The wedding took place at the historic Khimsar Fort in Nagaur, near Jodhpur. The 16th-century property, owned by former State Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, was decorated for the celebration, with only 50 close family members and friends in attendance.

The celebrations began on Wednesday with traditional pre-wedding traditions, including the "mehendi" ceremony and "haldi," the application of turmeric. The celebrations came to an end with a musical performance and dinner. Smriti Irani arrived in Jodhpur on Wednesday to take part in the ceremonies, while Zubin Irani arrived the day before.

Khimsar Fort where the wedding is taking place is located on the edge of Thar Desert

Due to the VIP nature of the wedding, security was tight, and Gajendra Singh Khimsar was intimately involved in the wedding preparations. The modest wedding is one of two high-profile weddings in Rajasthan this week, following the private ceremony of stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani on Tuesday in Jaisalmer.
