    West Bengal Cabinet Approves Student Credit Card scheme, To Launch from June 30

    Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister announced that her Government has decided to launch Students credit card from June 30. The decision which was the part of Trinamool Congress election manifesto was approved in the cabinet.





    The new Credit card will help the students to get a loan from the banks of up to Rs. 10 lakhs to pursue higher studies without a personnel guarantor as the State government will provide the guarantees.





    Speaking to Media CM Banerjee said, “Today the cabinet gave its nod to the student Credit card scheme. Anyone who spent 10 years in West Bengal can avail of the benefits of it. The loan will be available for undergraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral study in India or abroad.”





    CM Banerjee added that till the age of 40 a person is eligible for the scheme.





    CM Banerjee also said that a duration of fifteen years will be given to a student to pay the loan after getting a job.
