Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the Congress, will preside over the CWC meeting...
Digital Desk: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) holds meet on Saturday to finalize the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in five states.
According to officials, the three-day meeting is aimed at boosting the party's campaign in the poll-bound Telangana.
Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the Congress, will preside over the CWC meeting. The officials also added that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi would also attend.
According to party general secretary K C Venugopal, congress is likely to establish the government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram, which will have elections later this year.
The possibility of holding the "Bharat Jodo Yatra 2" could also be discussed.
The grand-old party will conduct a sizable gathering in Hyderabad on Monday. "Six guarantees for the people of Telangana will be announced. We hope that when the elections come, the party will get a clear mandate from the people," a senior Congress leader stated.
According to Mr. Ramesh, the CWC conference will be historic and "transformative" for Telangana politics.
Launching a stinging attack on the BRS government led by K Chandrasekhar Rao, he stated, "Understand one thing that the Modi government and the KCR government are two sides of the same coin. There is no difference between them; KCR is in Hyderabad, and Narendra Modi is in Delhi."
A triangular election between the BJP, the ruling BRS, and the Congress is expected to take place in Telangana, and the state election will serve as a litmus test for the INDIA alliance before the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Last month, the Congress reconstituted the Congress Working Committee and added a few unexpected members.
Ten months after Mallikarjun Kharge was named the party's leader, the committee was formed. It has 32 permanent invitees, 13 special invitees, and 39 regular members.
