Digital Desk: The nation's top wrestlers have announced that they will halt their protests until June 15 following a long meeting on Wednesday at the home of
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.
"The government has promised that the police probe will be finished by June 15th. He has agreed to our request that all FIRs filed against wrestlers be dropped. After the meeting, which began at 11:00 AM on Wednesday and finished in the early evening hours, Bajrang Punia told ANI, "If no action is taken by June 15th, we will continue our protest. Sakshi Malik was with him when they attended the conference.
Vinesh Phogat, a prominent face of the protest missed the meeting because she had to attend a scheduled "panchayat" in her village Balali in Haryana.
"I spoke with the wrestlers for a lengthy six hours. We have promised wrestlers that chargesheets would be submitted and the investigation will be finished by June 15th. Anurag Thakur, the Union Sports Minister, promised wrestlers that the WFI election will be completed by June 30.
On Tuesday midnight, Thakur took to his Twitter to invite the wrestlers for a meeting. “The government is willing to have a discussion with the wrestlers on their issues. I have once again invited the wrestlers for the same,” he wrote.

At Jantar Mantar on April 23, wrestlers who were protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the head of the
Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), and the national federation demanded his arrest over allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour.
According to information provided by this publication on Friday, two FIRs were filed against Singh by the Delhi Police on April 28. These two FIRs detail at least two instances of Singh asking for "sexual favours" instead of receiving professional assistance, close to 15 instances of sexual harassment, including 10 instances of inappropriate touching and molestation that included touching the navel and running hands over the breasts, as well as numerous intimidation incidents, including stalking.
