Digital Desk: During the pandemic, our healthcare workers made unrivalled sacrifices. Doctors and young nurses toiled night and day to save lives, putting their own lives at danger for the sake of others. The pandemic may not be at its peak right now, but one nurse's act has made a lasting impression - one that cannot be dismissed without praise. TK Ganvi, a 22-year-old staff young nurse, devoted her life to serving her patients, but her service didn't stop there.
Dr. Sudhakar, Karnataka's health minister, gave a heartwarming storey about a young nurse who inspired people to donate organs. Ganvi, the young nurse who died in a heartbreaking incident, donated her organs, extending her contribution to society even further.
"She cured and cared patients when she was alive and she gifted her organs after her death. The 22-year-old young staff nurse T.K.Ganvi who donated her organs after a tragic death is an example of "Paropakararthaṃ yo jivati sa jivati" - they alone live, who live for others," shared Sudhakar on Twitter.
"Hats off to the family of Ganvi for their kindness amid heart-wrenching tragedy. The young girl is an inspiration to all of us to pledge for organ donation. This also happens to be the first organ retrieval at Institute of Gastroenterology and Organ Transplant (IGOT)," Sudhakar added.
