Bhopal : On May 9, Computer Baba has been accused of fanning communal sentiments while campaigning for Digvijay Singh. An FIR was filed against Namdas Tyagi, also known as Computer Baba by Bhopal police on Thursday for violating the Model Code of Conduct. He was also issued a notice by The Election Commission.

Computer Baba performed a ‘havan’ on May 7 along with congress Bhopal candidate Digvijay Singh at ‘maha yagna’ to ensure Singh’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
As reported, he stated that the event was not a political program but a religious one. Information was not given by them to put any political poster but it was done by some anti social elements.
On May 9 an investigation was ordered by the district poll in-charge Pandharinath Khade , investigating into the matter deeply, Computer Baba was found guilty of violation of MCC. A case has been registered against him for violating the norms under the section 188(Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Computer Baba was also appointed as the Minister of State (MoS) under the Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government. After being denied a party ticket for the state assembly elections held in Madhya Pradesh he had openly rebelled against BJP.
On May 12, Bhopal went to polls in the sixth phase of parliamentary elections in which Digvijay is contesting against BJP’s Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur . The final phase of polling will be held on May 19, and counting of votes will take place on 23rd May.
