Earlier, the JDU-BJP coalition was in charge. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar abruptly switched allegiances and partnered with Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD to create the administration.
On Monday, August 15, as part of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, the government had planned festivities in schools and district offices. However, now that has been canceled citing a rise in Covid cases.

In a tweet, Amit Malviya claimed that the state administration had given the go-ahead for the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign in July. "But as soon as the government changed, the Nitish-Tejashwi government issued a new order ordering all schools and district offices to postpone the program on August 15. This is an insult to the tricolor," he said.
