New Delhi: BJP MP Tejaswi Surya has urged the Centre to weed out illegal Bangladeshis staying in Karnataka and various states of India posing great threat to national security.

Speaking during the zero hour in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Surya said there were a large number of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh in entire Karnataka, especially in Bengaluru. “They have not only become a security threat but also an economic threat as they are taking away the jobs of locals.”

Terming the illegal immigrants a “security threat” as well as an “economic threat”, Tejaswi Surya said that NRC must be extended to Karnataka “to weed out these Bangladeshis.” He added that they are trying to “change the demography of Karnataka”, and taking away jobs that would be for the locals.

Speaking on the NRC process being carried out in Assam, Mr. Surya also urged the centre to extend NRC to Karnataka state as well to “weed out these Bangladeshis.” He added that these Bangladeshis are trying to “change the demography of Karnataka”, and taking away jobs that would be for locals.
