Asansol: A BJP’s office was set ablaze on Sunday night in a village in Asansol. BJP accused TMC (Trinamool Congress) behind the incidents but TMC denied the allegations.
BJP leader Gopal Roy said that TMC goons have set the party’s office on fire because they are afraid of the growing influence of BJP in the area. TMC leader Hareram Tiwari denied all the allegations made by the BJP. Further he accused the BJP leaders of doing illegal activities including alcohol consumption inside the party office.
BJP also alleged the police of reaching the place late despite being informed soon after the office caught on fire. The police are now investigating the matter. Asansol parliamentary constituency is represented by Babul Supriyo, who is a union minister in the NDA-led central government.
