Mohali : A scratch on a BMW car infuriated the owner so much that the BMW owner thrashes cyclist, takes away Rs 700, wrist watch of the cyclist and then leaves the cyclist all bruised up.

The incident is a month old one but the police registered the FIR recently after verifying all allegations and taking advice of the legal cell.

According to police, the accused BMW car owner has been identified as Ennaite Agarwal, a resident of Sector 8 C, Chandigarh. He was booked on the complaint of Pradeep Kumar (32), a resident of Golomajra village, Derabassi. Kumar said he was going to Mubarakpur for some work on his cycle on October 3.

When he reached the Ghaggar bridge, a BMW car bearing registration number CH-04-B-7778 allegedly hit him and as a results, the car got scratched. “The accused alighted from his car. He started hurling casteist abuses at me. He then thrashed me and took Rs 700 from my pocket. He also forcefully took my watch,” Kumar said in his complaint. “Two persons in a car crossing the area intervened and stopped the man from hitting me further,” Kumar alleged.
Police booked Agarwal under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 392 (punishment for robbery) of IPC and 3 (1) (x) of SC and the ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
