New Delhi : BSNL is trying to make a comeback to the telecom market by coming with new services as well as priced plans. The telecom operator is phasing out 3G services with 4G services in select areas also providing subscribers free SIM cards in select circles.
As part of the regular 4G plans, BSNL has two special data plans for existing subscribers. Despite the lack of a nationwide 4G network, the state-owned operator has been trying to draw more customers to its existing 3G services with appealing plans in terms of price and benefits so as to have a better chance at its rivals.
BSNL is deploying its 4G service to 8,500 sites across the 20 circles in the country as per a report from Telecom Talk. Further, the operator will selectively discontinue its 3G service and install the 4G infrastructure in its place to kick-start the faster network.
BSNL has already implemented 4G services in various circles such as Kerala, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Last month, BSNL even introduced a special 4G plan for the subscribers of Kerala in a bid to draw them to its 4G service.
