Digital Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs to release the notification on the Citizenship Act 2019. According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the rules will be called Citizenship (Amendment) Rules. The application mode will be online and eligible persons can apply through the web portal provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the notifications.
"Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will be notifying today, the Rules under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA-2019). These rules, called the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024 will enable the persons eligible under CAA-2019 to apply for grant of Indian citizenship," Spokesperson, Ministry of Home Affairs says.
It further added, "The applications will be submitted in a completely online mode for which a web portal has been provided."
According to information coming in from PTI, ANI, and PIB, PMO officials say that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act of 2019 is now in force. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will release the notification today.
