Ahmedabad : Congress Ex president Rahul Gandhi will appear before a Ahmedabad Court today in a defamation case filed against him for allegedly calling Amit Shah a murder accused.
During the polling run up, Rahul Gandhi had allegedly called Amit Shah a murder accused during an election rally at Madhya Pradesh in April. Rahul was citing a murder case in which the BJP leader was discharged five years ago.
“Murder accused BJP chief Amit Shah, Wah Kya Shaan Hai! (Wow, what a glory!)”. Rahul Gandhi had reportedly said.
In 2014, Amit Shah was named in a murder case of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati encounter killings. A special court released Amit Shah of all charges holding there existed “no case” against him and that he had been implicated for “political reasons”.
BJP leader Prabhat jha sent a legal notice to the then Congress president Rahul Gandhi for defaming Amit Shah on false grounds
Prabhat Jha mentioned in his statement that Rahul Gandhi’s comments was directed at the national president of a party which has 11 crore members, one of whom is the nation’s Prime Minister.
Amit Shah too showed immense displeasure and prompted strong rebuttal from Amit Shah who called Rahul Gandhi a man with very little legal knowledge and that the fake murder charge made against him was “politically motivated” by the court long ago.
