New Delhi : The Delhi government has announced two day mourning in the national capital as a mark of respect for senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who passed away on Tuesday at AIIMS, Delhi. Sushma Swaraj was 67 at the time of her death and was not keeping well for quite some time. She had recently undergone a kidney transplant.
“Delhi government will observe two days state mourning as a mark of respect in the memory of former Chief Minister & senior leader respected Sushma Swaraj Ji,” Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted.
Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal condoled her death, saying the country has lost a great leader.
“India has lost a great leader. Sushma ji was a very warm and remarkable person. May her soul rest in peace,” Mr. Kejriwal tweeted.
Sushma Swaraj was an enigmatic woman political leader whose chrishma was respected among the citizens of India of all ages. Her gritty determination and profound oratory skills helped her win many hearts across the globe. She was a stalwart who stood tall among the top leaders of the world.
