New Delhi: A high alert has been sounded in Delhi after inputs received from security agencies revealed the entering of four terrorists of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed in the city. The terrorists are allegedly planning to strike during the festival season as per intel reports.
The special cell of the Delhi Police received an alert last evening about the presence of the four terrorists in the capital. The Delhi police carried out searches in and around the capital following the intel inputs.
The country has been in a state of high alert after intel warnings of a terror plan to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. The Home Ministry put out an alert to all states following a threat naming 30 major cities. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is also alerted to a threat to frontline bases following multi-agency inputs.
An “orange alert’ Has been sounded in important installations and security has been tightened at the IAF bases across Srinagar, Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir, Pathankat and Hindon.
