New Delhi: King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, the royal couple of Netherlands arrived last night for a five-day visit to India.
Arriving in the New Delhi airport, the couple was given a traditional welcome after which they met with President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today morning. They were also accorded with a cordial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
This is the Dutch king’s first visit to India since his ascension to the throne in 2013. The royal duo will attend the inaugural session of 25th Technology Summit in New Delhi since the Netherlands is the partner country for this summit.
It is to be noted that both India and Netherlands have a bilateral trade turnover and the five-day visit by the king and queen is expected to boost economic and political cooperation between the two countries.
