Present Tamil Nadu government and Ex-Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit is in deep trouble after courting controversy on Tuesday evening after he was accused of improper behavior patting a woman journalist on her cheek.
This incident comes in the light of the increasing cases of women molestation, sexual abuse, rapes and murder increasing in the country day by day.
Before Tamil Nadu, Banwarilal Purohit was the governor of Meghalaya after which he was sworn in the 25th Governor of Tamil Nadu. During his entire political career, Purohit has never courted any political controversy, and has always been active participant in many social, political and economical issues concerning the benefit of the lower class and castes of the society.
Apparently, this “Cheek-pat controversy has put Governor Banwarilal Purohit in the dock for the first time, whose political career has always been full of social causes and clear of any pitfalls, though he has claimed that his intentions had nothing to do with harming the lady journalist. In fact, Governor Banwarilal Purohit has also sent a letter to the lady journalist asking forgiveness for his “misinterpreted behavior”.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening after Banwarilal Purohit patted a lady journalist on her cheek, apparently when posed with a series of tough questions about sex-for-degrees case that has rocked the Industrial state of Tamil Nadu.
