Mirzapur: Four persons, including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper and the son of a retired jailer, have been arrested for allegedly abducting a 15-year-old of class 10 and gang raping her in a deserted place in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur.
According to the police, the survivor’s father alleged on Monday that Jai Prakash made a call to the girl on her mobile and asked her to step out and meet him at the spot on the outskirts of the village where he was present with three other friends in a car.

Deviver Shukla, the inspector of Halia police station said that a case has been registered for kidnapping and gang-raping the minor under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. All the accused have been arrested and are likely to be presented before a magistrate on Wednesday.
The girl was allegedly assaulted on Monday at an isolated place in Halia which is 50 km off district headquarters Mirzapur. Jai Prakash Maurya, the son of retired jailor, Brijlal Maurya, kept visiting the village Halia in which his sister settled down after marriage. It was during this time in the last few months, that he befriended the teenager.
The car in which all of the 4 people were travelling was intercepted by policemen on duty for checking. As the car stopped, the girl started crying, raising an alarm. The policemen on duty then took the four men and the girl to the police station. Superintendent of police, Mirzapur, Dharm Veer, said all four accused have been sent for medical examination.
