Pune: Noted journalist and former BJP leader Arun Shourie was admitted to a hospital in Maharashtra’s Pune city after he fell ill, a doctor attending him said. The 78 year old former Union Minister fainted late Sunday night following which he was rushed to the Ruby Hall Clinic here, he said.
“All necessary tests have been performed and he is currently under observation. He is conscious,” a senior doctor at the hospital said. While initially Shourie was taken to the Hinjewadi branch of the hospital, he was later shifted to the main hospital. His vital parameters are stable. “He is under observation and needs rest,” Dr Prachee Sathe, chief of ICU at Ruby Hall Clinic said.
Shourie fainted when he had stepped out for his evening walk on Sunday at his home in Lavasa. According to the relatives, Shourie had walked ten rounds and felt giddy. He fainted and had a free fall at around 5-45 pm. He was thereafter rushed to the hospital.
