    Hospitalised cricketer Vinod Kambli to receive 5 lakh aid from Shiv Sena

    Digital Desk : Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli is currently hospitalised and undergoing treatment at Aakriti Hospital in Thane, Maharashtra. He was admitted to the ICU of the hospital for urinary infections. Doctors are planning to shift him out of the ICU within a day or two.


    Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and and his son Shrikant Shinde have come forward to help Kambli. Dy CM Shinde announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh and further support through to him through the Shrikant Shinde Foundation.


    His doctors said that his condition was extremely serious when he was admitted to the hospital. His blood pressure was fluctuating when he was brought to the hospital. However, doctors added that his condition is stable now.


    VInod Kambli had played 17 Test matches and 104 One Day Internationals (ODI) for India between 1993 to 2000. He scored 2477 runs in ODIs and 1084 runs in Test matches. He was a childhood friend of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and they share a close friendship. Despite his great contributions to the game of cricket, Kambli, known for his batting skills had faced
    many personal and health related challenges.


    Recently, Vinod Kambli made a public appearance alongside Sachin Tendulkar at the inauguration of a memorial to legenary coach Ramakant Achrekar at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. His condition was visibly concerning at the event and was facing difficulties to communicate with others.
