New Delhi: According to the 24th edition of Aon’s Salary Increase Survey, employees in Indian firms could end up getting the lowest salary hike in a decade. The survey projects an average salary hike of 9.1 per cent for the Indian employees in 2020. The survey is based upon the the responses from over 1,000 organisations across more than 20 industries.

The survey noted that despite the economic slowdown, majority of the organisations are projecting salary increase in the range 8-10 per cent. It was 9.5 per cent in 2018.
The organisations that are projected to get the highest salary hikes are e-commerce/early stage firms (10 per cent) and professional services companies (10 per cent). An average salary hike above 9 per cent is expected from firm dealing with pharma/medical device, IT, FMCG/consumer durables, chemicals, engineering and manufacturing.
For individuals working in firms linked with transportation and logistics, the hike is expected to be somewhere around 7.6 per cent, hospitality and restaurants-8.2 per cent, real estate-8.3 percent and automobiles-8.3 per cent.
