Digital Desk: A lady claims that a purported spiritual guru raped her for seven years under the pretense of removing her obstacles. On Monday in Bengaluru, the victim lodged a complaint in this regard.

Ananda Murthy, a self-described guru, and his wife Latha have been arrested by police as a result of a complaint from the woman's mother. Police are still seeking for the suspect.

The woman claimed she met the accused during a religious event held at her friend's home about seven years ago.

The victim claims that the so-called guru advised her that in order to overcome her troubles in life, she would have to engage in specific rituals.

The woman claimed she went to the man's residence to do a "special" puja because she believed in him. She claimed that after accepting the drink that the "Guruji" had offered her, she passed out.

The victim said that while she was still partially clothed, she saw Murthy and his wife asleep on the same bed. She claimed that the pair had videotaped their alleged sexual assault of her on their cell phone.

Following threats made with pornographic videos, the woman was allegedly repeatedly raped by the suspect. The mother of the victim claimed that after her daughter's engagement news broke a few days ago, she learned about the rape.

The fiance of the lady is said to have been greeted by Murthy and his wife, who then showed him the tapes. Additionally, if the man wed the victim, the accuser vowed to release the footage.
