    India's active cases surpassed 70,000-mark with 12,899 fresh infections

    After a three-month hiatus, the number of daily Covid-19 cases has increased across the country. On Saturday, the figure surpassed 13,000 for the first time in almost three months.

    health bulletin, India's Covid-19 tally fell marginally on Sunday, with the
    country logging 12,899 infections in the last 24 hours. There were 13,216
    incidences of infection on Saturday. According to the data, the death toll was
    raised to 524,855 following 15 associated fatalities.

    reached 43,296,692.



    After a surge of 4366
    infections, the number of active Covid cases surpassed 70,000. Currently,
    active cases account for 0.17 percent of the overall caseload. According to
    ministry data, the national Covid-19 recovery rate was 98.62 percent, while the
    case fatality rate was 1.21 percent.

    boom, followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu.



    Maharashtra had 3,883
    new cases of infection on Saturday, while the national capital had 1,534. On
    Saturday, Tamil Nadu reported 596 new infections, including four international
    returnees.
