Kalyani AIIMS scandal: CID summons relatives of two BJP MLAs; 8 named in FIR

The BJP, on the other hand, claims that the state police and CID are acting at the direction of the ruling Trinamool Congress....

Digital Desk: The West Bengal Police's Crime Investigation Department (CID) has called in relatives of two BJP legislators as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in hiring at the AIIMS, Kalyani, in the Nadia district.

CID sources said that Anshua Dhar Ghosh, BJP Chakdah MLA Bankim Chandra Ghosh's daughter-in-law, was scheduled to be interrogated on July 8. However, she has requested time from the CID.

"On Thursday, Dhar Ghosh requested 10 days' notice in an email to us. We questioned four to five people in this case. Not much can be released because the inquiry is still in its early stages, a senior CID official stated.

BJP MLA from Bankura Niladri Sekhar Dana's daughter Moitri Dana has reportedly been summoned in, according to the CID sources. Moreover, a CID team will likely visit Bankura on July 11 to meet Dana. Following the filing of an FIR alleging recruitment irregularities at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani, against BJP's Ranaghat MP Jagannath Sarkar, Bankura MLA Niladri Sekhar Dana, and Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar, the CID recently initiated an investigation.

Eight people were included in the FIR, including Bankim Ghosh. The case was initiated based on a complaint filed on May 20 by Sariful Islam. The complainant claimed that despite not showing up for the recruitment test, MLA Dana's daughter was hired as a data entry operator at the Central Government-run Healthcare Institution with a monthly pay of Rs 30,000.

The BJP, on the other hand, claims that the state police and CID are acting at the direction of the ruling Trinamool Congress. adding that all of the jobs were temporary and that AIIMS Kalyani did not directly hire the people it recruited.
