Army depot blast
The blast took place when disposal of old explosives was being carried out at around 8 am in the morning. Pulgaon is around 110 km from Nagpur. The police have confirmed the death of 6 persons including a worker of Jabalpur Ordinance factory. A team of experts from Jabalpur’s Kamaria Ordinance factory was called at bomb disposal range in Wardha to destroy old explosives.
Maharashtra Assam Depot Blast
The injured have been shifted to the nearest hospital. A similar accidental fire had killed 17 jawans including two Army officers and injured 13 civilian fire fighters at the Army’s Central Ammunition Depot (CAD) at Pulgaon in Maharashtra. The Army had ordered a Court of Inquiry into the incident while officials couldn’t confirm if the fire was an accident or sabotage.
