Mumbai/Chandigarh: The counting of votes in for the Maharashtra-Haryana 2019 assembly elections results is underway. The vote counting began at 8 am for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and 90 assembly seats in Haryana.
In Maharashtra, the BJP-Shiv Sena coalition is set to register its first back-to-back poll victory. Both the parties are leading after settling for 164-124 seat sharing formula for the 288 member Maharashtra Assembly.
Meanwhile, the stage is also set for vote counting in the Haryana assembly election with stakes high for major parties as well as minor parties. BJP is leading with 43 seats as 46 seats are required to form the government.
BJP is currently in power in both these states where the elections were held on October 21, 2019. The results of both these assemblies are important as they come just five months after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
