Mumbai : Death toll rose to 5 in a major fire outbreak in a high-rise building’s 14th floor here in Mumbai. Many others were also injured severely in the fire incident.
The major fire outbreak took place in a skyscraper, Sargam Cooperative Housing Society’s 14 floor situated in Tilak Nagar in Mumbai.
Yesterday’s fire was yet another major fire outbreaks in Mumbai. The fire started at around 7:45 pm in the evening where more than 15 fire brigades had to be involved to douse the massive fire.
As per reports, 5 people have died while many others have received serious injuries which also includes one fire man who was involved in the rescue operation. All the injured persons were immediately taken to the hospital for medical assistance.
The reason behind the massive fire is yet to be ascertained. According to some eye witnesses, the fire took place due to a short circuit in the main electrical wire which soon converted in to a major fire spreading across the 14h floor.
The persons who died in the fire incident have been identified as Sunita Joshi-72, Balchandra Joshi-72, Suman Shri Niwas Joshi-83, Sarala Suresh Gangar-52 and Premji Gangar (age not specified).
Mumbai has been in the news recently for rows of fire accidents and massive fire outbreaks. A massive fire incident took place in a Government Hospital in Andheri which claimed 10 lives and many others injured. Last week too Mumbai was in news for a massive fire outbreak in a five star hotel where many guests were reported to be injured severely.
