New Delhi : During a frisk search by Delhi Police at Delhi CM Kejriwal’s residence, a man was found with live bullet and later arrested for carrying bullets in his purse.

The man has been identified as Mohammad Imran, 39 years old, a caretaker of a mosque in Karol Bagh and a resident of Seelampur locality. He was arrested when he was going to attend a Janta Darbar (public meeting) at the chief minister’s residence on Monday, they said. He is a maujjim at the Masjid Bawli Wali.

Last week, a man threw chili powder at Kejriwal inside the Delhi Secretariat. Imran had come to meet the Chief minister at Janta Darbar around 11:15 am, a senior police officer said. He had come with 12 imams and maulvis to discuss the issue of increasing salary of staff working at the Delhi Waqf Board, he said.
During the search, a live cartridge of 3.2 bore was recovered from his purse by security staff deputed at Kejriwal’s house. Imran was handed over to the police and a case registered against him under the relevant Arms Act.

On interrogation it was found out that Imran had found the pistol inside the mosque’s donation box and that he had decided to throw into the Yamuna river. But later he changed his mind and kept the pistol inside his purse.
