New Delhi : An employee of the Ministry of Home Affairs has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for offering Rs 16 lakh in bribe money. A senior CBI official while speaking on the issue told IANS, “We have arrested Dheeraj Kumar Singh posted as a section officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs in a trap case this morning with an alleged bribe of Rs 16 lakh.”
As per official reports Dheeraj Kumar Singh tried to extend favours in a case involving an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. Singh had approached an investigating officer with an offer of Rs 2 crore in a case involving an IPS officer to settle the matter.
The MHA alerted the top bosses immediately after getting info about the case and soon after laid a trap to capture Singh red handed. Singh was making the first installment of Rs 16 lakh of the bribe money today morning. Singh has been taken to the CBI headquarters for questioning.
