    Over 50 Injured After Passenger Train Collides With Goods Train; Halts in Maharashtra’s Gondia

    Digital Desk: More than 50 people were injured after three bogies of a train derailed in Gondia, Maharashtra. The incident took place on Wednesday at 2.30 am, according to the information we have so far. Out of the 50 injured individuals, 49 have been discharged from the hospital after receiving first aid, while one is alleged to have suffered serious injuries. Reportedly, the train was travelling from Jodhpur in Rajasthan to Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. 


    The accident occurred as a result of a collision between a goods train and a passenger train and due to signalling issues. The driver attempted to avoid hitting the goods train by using the emergency brake but was unsuccessful.


    Reportedly, the goods train going from Raipur to Nagpur was hit hard by a passenger train coming from behind.


    The re-railment was finished by 4.30 a.m., and the affected train left the site at 5.24 am and arrived in Gondia at 5.44 am. Traffic movement had resumed by 5.45 am.
