Srinagar: Ceasefire violation by Pakistan troops left two soldiers and one civilian dead in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Two houses were damaged in the incident which also left three others injured.
The ceasefire violation led to a cross-border firing along the International Border in Kathua, a strong retaliation to the unprovoked firing by Indian Army. There has been an ongoing spike between the neighbouring countries since the scrapping of the special status to Jammu and Kashmir in August.
In a statement made by the Centre, Pakistan had committed more than 2.050 unprovoked ceasefire violations till September this year, which had led to the death of 21 people. The Centre further said that repeated requests had been made to the Islamabad regarding ceasefire since 2003.
