In a shocking case of corruption in Andhra Pradesh, an office attendant with property over 100 crore was nabbed by the Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau here on Tuesday.
The accused government servant K Narasimha Reddy was working at the office of the Nellore Deputy Transport Commissioner (DTC) as subordinate cum attendant.
After getting a tip off about the corrupt government employee, the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted raids on the premises related to Narasimha Reddy and unearthed assets worth over several crores including gold-diamond jewellery.
2 kg Gold, 7 Kg silver, 7.70 lakh cash, over 50 acre of agricultural land, 17 house plots and G+2 Penthouse building were also recovered by the officials. Reddy’s monthly salary was below Rs 40,000, but his huge property and wealth attracted suspicion of the Bureau.
Apart from the documents of properties, ACB also found the detail of life insurance of Rs 1 crore, LIC policies of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 Lakh deposited in a bank.
K Narasimha Reddy joined DTC office as an attendant on 22 October, 1984 in Nellore. For the past 34 years, he has been in the same position without any promotion.
