Digital Desk: On the occasion of India's 76th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag and delivered the traditional address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi.

Prior to that, he examined the Guard of Honour, which stood directly in front of the National Flag across the moat below the walls.

The Prime Minister was led by the GoC Delhi region to the Saluting Base where he was given the general salute by a combined inter-services and police guard before PM Modi inspected the Guard of Honour.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by the Minister of Defense, Rajnath Singh, the Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt, and the Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, upon his arrival at the Red Fort. A combined Inter-Services and Delhi Police Guard then gave the Prime Minister a standing salute. PM Modi then inspected the Guard of Honour.

Meanwhile, under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, people are eagerly participating in the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign.

On Saturday, the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign officially began. It will last till Monday.

The goal of the initiative is to encourage Indians everywhere to hoist the flag at home. According to the Union Ministry of Culture, the program's goal is to make the relationship with the national flag more personal rather than only maintaining it in a formal or institutional way.

The Government of India has launched an effort called Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate and celebrate 75 years of independence as well as the illustrious past of India's people, culture, and accomplishments.

This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only contributed to the advancement of India along its evolutionary path but also possess the strength and capacity to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of bringing about India 2.0, powered by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav began on March 12, 2021, beginning a 75-week countdown to our 76th anniversary of independence.
