PM Modi orders ministries to recruit 10 lakh people in 18 months

Notably, the opposition has frequently criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on the problem of unemployment.

Digital Desk: The Indian Government plans to hire ten lakh individuals in various government agencies and ministries during the next 1.5 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed all departments and ministries to begin recruiting on a "mission mode" basis,  Prime Minister's Office (PMO) informed today (June 14).

Reportedly, the Prime Minister's directive came following a review of the status of human resources in all government departments and ministries.

Notably, the opposition has frequently criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on the problem of unemployment. Opposition parties used the issue of vacant posts in various government sectors to attack the ruling BJP party.

Sharing the development on its Twitter handle, PMO wrote, "PM @narendramodi reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in a mission mode in next 1.5 years."

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised PM Modi's decision and took to Twitter to thank him.

"The basis of new India is its youth power. To empower them, PM Modi is working continuously. PM Modi Ji's directive to recruit 10 lakhs in a mission mode in all government departments and ministries in 1.5 years will bring new hope and confidence among the youth. Thank you PM @narendramodi ji for this," wrote Shah on his Twitter.

Notably, creating jobs was a prominent promise made by the BJP government during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
