Rajkot : Rajkot Police issued a ban on popular mobile gaming app – PUBG citing addictive and harmful effect it is playing on the lives of the youngsters.
Just days after the ban, 10 people have been arrested in the city for violating the ban and playing the mobile in public areas.
According to a report by the Indian Express, six of the people who have been arrested for violating the terms of ban are a part of a graduate program and they were picked up by the police outside a fast-food joint near a college on the Kalavad road area of the city on Thursday.
Three others who were arrested by the Rajkot Special Operations Group (SGO) for playing PUBG in public include two men, while one of them is working for a private firm in the city, the other is a labourer. And the third man is a graduate student in search of a job. As per the report, the three arrests were made a day after the Rajkot Taluka Police arrested the six students for violating the PUBG ban in the city. Later, a 25 year old resident of Satta Bazar was arrested by the police for playing the game near Lavad road.
The police seized the mobile phones of the individuals for the “the purpose of investigation” and it has charged the arrested individuals under the Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code for violating the notification issues by Police Commissioner and Section 35 for playing PUBG despite ban Gujarat Police Act.
